I and my family loved everything from the comfy rooms to the fully equipped kitchen, the views of the mountain are stunning from the lounge and outside dinning area..it was absolute tranquillity...waking up to birds chirping and enjoying the splendid night sky ..WOW. The stars are so close and clear ..its really magical at night and we experienced this on our own private lawn, we rally enjoyed the pools and the sunbathing area was really a plus. We had a beautiful time and experience at Hilltop country Retreat!

Beautiful property. We stayed here one night for my birthday and the room was absolutely beautiful and nicely set up. My favourite thing is the wood burning fireplace in the room which made for an extremely cost atmosphere. The property itself is pretty and in a nice area a short 4min drive from the old historic part of Swellendam. Lana helped us book a nice dinner (the last table) in town upon our arrival and was very sweet. The room had nice complimentary touches (coffee, rusk, etc.). This room would be great for couples or family with 1 or 2 small kids as there are bunk beds in the room.

Convenient stop on our way to the Garden Route. Close to Marloth Nature Reserve offering scenic walks and trails. Close to town for museum and shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Braai (bbq) facilities (all included) was excellent. Furnishings/ decor were top notch. Recommend stay longer than 1 night.

Room was very nice with everything required for self catering. Clean, with decent shower, toilet & vanity. Nice kitchen with fridge and wash basin, etc. Outdoor Braam area should you have required it. Staff were helpful with suggestions of restaurants to eat at and places to visit.

Very neat and tidy with all the required amenities. It is also very well situated. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lovely outside areas with lawns, swimming pools and braai areas.

What's not to like? From the friendly staff to the beautiful rooms as well as the perfect location, waking up to the view of mountains and being surrounded by a beautiful garden

Ready prepared braai (barbeque) was a winner. Swimming pool on the hottest day of the year - 42⁰c was a welcome relief. Really good value for money.

Beautiful accommodation with such friendly staff. We loved having the fireplace as an added feature in the room, especially with the cold weather we were having. The bed was so comfortable. Room was spacious with everything we needed.

Everything was as per the site, super clean and friendly staff. We definitely will be back there. The retreat was exactly that- a retreat surrounded by nature. Attention to detail in the rooms, bathrooms and the kitchen area made the accommodation homely and warm during winter, especially with the indoor fireplace. Cant wait to visit in summer!

Room was lovely but wasn't the one I'd booked, The hotel moved me to a smaller room than booked, as they had overbooked and had a family staying in the room I had requested. My replacement room was lovely so no really complaint but no apology for the room change would have been nice.
